Ginger Juice for Health

Have you ever tried ginger juice before?

Those who ever tried spa might probably tasted ginger juice, normally after a long body massage. I know Urban Retreat Spa gives a good one. I tried this one from Culpeper, a herbalist brand from UK, which is 100% organic and mixed together with Manuka Honey. This ginger juice can be added with water, hot water works best and drink a whole cup after meal to ease the tummy. This brand also works well as flavoring for cooking and baking as well. Roasted chicken goes well with this too!

For those who are curious about ginger and its medicinal properties, there is a wide range of benefits of ginger such as nausea, digestive problems, circulation and arthritis. Stomach cramps can be eased and circulation can also be improved. Ginger supports a healthy cardiovascular system by making platelets less sticky which in turn reduces circulatory problems.

Ginger oil used for massage can help relieve painful arthritis due to its anti-inflammatory properties. Ginger is often included in many herbal decongestants and can help to minimise the symptoms of respiratory conditions, colds and allergies.

You could also try and do your own juice at home. Just cut a few slices and add some water and boil it until the extracts come up from the roots. Alternatively add some sugar or honey to ease the strong taste.

The Everything Balm from Trilogy

Some name it A Little Pot of Wonders, The Balm That Does Everything, The Multi Tasking Beauty Tool and many many more.

Introducing The Everything Balm , from Trilogy which is based in New Zealand, and they have the skincare range that has rosehip oil content including other natural product which is completely organic.



How I came to know and try this was a little bit incidental too, as I was initially looking for rosehip oil to reduce my pigmentation and brown spots concerns. In case you didn't know, it's great to have rosehip oil at home too, it does wonders ; this oil naturally contains antioxidants and vitamins as well Omega 3 and 6. It's excellent to stimulate metabolic changes to the skin, reduce wrinkles and fine lines, reduce dark spots,boosts levels of collagen and helps cell regeneration. Its great for after sun too! Review - Kedai E-Spa

I came across this product as I was doing a quick take away dinner in PJ the other day.

My verdict : 5 STAR Product, this lady really know how to make a great lulur! I'm so happy to try a very good Bumiputera spa product. Love it Love it Love it!!

At first purchase, I decided to buy for Aira the lulur set ( Sari Rempah and Gel Zaitun)


For the second purchase, I decided to try the product myself, so here are some really wonderful stuff that I love and raved!!

Lulur Kacang Hijau and Gel Susu Kambing

Just two tablespoonful of green peas powder and two tablespoonful of goat's milk gel , mixed it together in a bowl and lather luxuriously on your dry skin. Wait for a few seconds until it settles on your skin and start massaging in a circular motion.

What I love about the product was the texture when you mix these two combo. It forms this lather and scrubs off the dead skin cells, and after that you feel your skin super soft ( thanks to the goat's milk gel) and its very smooth too. After trying it regularly for three time in a week, I noticed that the skin has improved to a softer texture, I could skin on body lotions too if I was too busy and it was the BEST body scrub I ever tried!

Only RM28 per set! Its really cheap if you wanna skip day spa treatment or slowly planning to look good for your wedding day or honeymoon perhaps. I just feel its important to look good everyday for personal motivation!

The Nutricentials - Nuskin Basics

Skincare stays as the most fascinating subject for women as the technology for beauty evolving from time to time. Although you can find a few good products in the drugstore, there are some people who would naturally be drawn to check out the luxury products over the beauty counter in the departmental store.

When I first started researching on good skincare, I came across AgeLOC, with really suits me. I carry this everywhere especially when I need to wash my face for prayer (solat) and when you combine this with the Moisture Mist, it gives a long hydrating skin feel for a few hours.

Only RM68 for the ARO price, which is affordable, as good as any luxury brand and works well too!

When I provide facials to close friends, to fall in love with this too. Aira personally love the cleansing gel and the pH balancing toner because it controls the sebum for producing too much oil and prevent from future breakouts. Even teenagers can try this range too!!

steps to good skin - aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is an ancient pre historic period therapeutic practices for healing, beauty and well being. It was famous in Egypt, China and Far East. Back in those days, they used extracted essences from aromatic plants to cure epidemic remedies and various skin conditions.

These extracted essences became essential oils that carries the 'aroma' and it was suppose to help to cure the physical symptoms and promote a healthier well being. Since we started this beauty blog, it is great to with you on a good understanding our what essential oils are and how it is really handy to keep some of them at the kitchen for traditional remedies at home!!

In order to understand the different types of oils and how to create aromatherapy at home, first you must understand its function as they are many products out there in the market that cater various needs. There are fragrance oils ( for the room) , essential oils ( for aromatherapy , treatment, skin problems , vapour treatment) carrier oils (oils that can be mixed together with essential oils before you apply directly on to the skin).

How much do you know about MICRODERMABRASION?

When I started this beauty blog, I made a lot of reserch about beauty treatments. I have to say quite frankly that I only went for facial once in my entire life! I went for extration procedure and it was painful. I tried on some products which does not go well with my skin and suffered long. After that I straightaway learn about investments on the skin. Be really careful about what's best and suitable on your face. And check your finances as well.

Recently I tried Polishing Peel from Nuskin, which was meant for microdermabrasion treatment at home, to deliver the same clinical treatment result, and the best thing about this is you can do it yourself.

But before that let me explain to you what microdermabrasion is all about.

Microdermabrasion basically a peeling treatment, with the aim to create younger and smoother skin. The process includes removing  the outermost layer of dead skin cells from the epidermis.  Once a person went through the procedure, it will diminish the fine lines, wrinkles, and shallow acne scars which helps to even out the texture. Removing the dead skin will aid in the penetration of skin care products by up to 50% and make-up will go on much more smoothly.

Nuskin Polishing Peel  contains non-abrasive formula features pumpkin enzymes that resurface and polish the skin, and bentonite clay to remove dull skin cells and toxins. A good radiant skin

There's a profound joy in shopping for make up or beauty products.

You're never too short, too fat or too thin that could be the primary reason of shopping for clothes or signing up for slimming programme.

First of all, I am not a beauty expert, but absolutely can be called a beauty junkie. Only, I never shop for cheap stuff, because it was never on my list to try something that does not work. It is an interesting fact to know that during recession period, beauty and skincare products are still selling well. This is might be the case because most people would still want to look good and at their best, because first impression is very important as it carries your overall image projection.

I am among those in that category, as the age gets older, I also want to grow wiser and keep on improving my image. Being older means you're getting access to better pay, financially stronger and also carrying more challenging responsibilities like buying a good car, finding the best school for your kid, setting up retirement plans, more cash savings or investments and purchasing your dream home.

One of my goal is to be financially independant, at least 10 years from now.I remember once I met a banker and he said to me, what's most important is not about how much you earn, but how much you managed to save and spend your golden years. I figure, 9 to 5 career is good, but to become entrepreneurial and keep your day job is even better. That way you help to become more successful, sustainable and also helps people to change their lives.

Turning 30

This year, Erra & Aira are turning 30.

We met each other when we were 18 and this year marks our 12th year together!

Many ladies don't quite embrace the idea of hitting almost middle-age, to be exact, the big 30 - but I for one, loved the very idea of it.

Confession - I hate being in my twenties. People look at me with this notion of incompleteness - you have to get married, you need a good job, you are still young, you don't deserve enough respect etc. etc.

Turning 30 will do good for me. I feel more substantial in terms of myself, my personality, my career, the marriage that I'm in and best of all - people can't quite shove me around because I am not a little twenty-year old anymore.

Truthfully, I stopped being 20 when I turned 20. When I was 25, I was actually having the maturity of a 30 year old. So yes! Come to me, 30!

As 2011 stepped into my life, three things has put me on a hold and became the epitome of my life:

1. Health & Fitness
2. Beauty & Looking Good
3. Investment and more investments

This all boils down to the business path that Erra & I have chosen to pursue: the Galvanic Spa.

Inspired by Nina Garcia

Hello Ladies!

Nina Garcia is our prime inspiration for coming up with this blog. We read her books, we see her views and we adopted the word she used so fashionably in the book "Style Strategy" - Recessionista!
Many people would really like the label "Fashionista", it brings about the air of always being in trend no matter what, always being the first to be wearing the top designer's clothes and having an empire of fashionable closet - but, in reality - can we all afford that - is it really worth it?
Is Fancy really the new Fashion trend?

Maybe not. The Resecessionista is the NEW Fashionista simply because we are current, relevant, fashionable, smart, savvy and we make a lot of people happy by advocating this!

It's funny how Fashion can also inspire your dreams! I'm currently finishing "The One Hundred", a more in-depth guide on the what-to-wear and how-to-wear and what you must have in your closet.

The cutest thing about Nina Garcia's books are the illustrations (you feel like a little girl again), and the famous quotes (by fashion giants like Marc Jacobs). You simply can't put it down. I think I have found my best friend :)

We will be giving tips here and there on this book FROM Nina Garcia's famous books, even from her twitter and facebook pages (she's got endless advice on looking good, feeling good and staying happy) - and we try our best to relate it to our lives, our background and the culture that makes us who we are :)
